Transavia controls 70% in Avicola - Brasov as of August 28th, according to Transavia PR Manager Teodora Ilinca. "We control 30% through Avipas, Transavia and the shares of the Transavia CEO, Ioan Popa," Ilinca announced. According to her, Transavia is going to invest 10.5 million EUR in the Brasov-based company, primarily to perform technological upgrades. "Some of the employees have been fired. Transavia Group has 700 employees in three counties. Avicola - Brasov had 730 employees upon acquisition. The decision was made that the optimal number of employees was 500, whereas the rest would be laid off," Ilinca added. Transavia produces some 35,000 tons of meat per year and hopes to reach 50,000 tons/year after upgrading Avicola - Brasov.
