"Transelectrica" completed a EUR 24 million investment in the Moldova area

"Transelectrica", "Areva Energie" and "Electromontaj" yesterday inaugurated in Suceava the 400 Kv axis, which includes the Gutinaş, Bacău Sud, Roman Nord and Suceava stations. The project involved upgrading the four power stations, and the total investment amounted to EUR 24 million. 80% of this amount came from the World Bank, with the remaining 20% coming from Transelectrica"s own funds. Adriean Videanu, the minister of the Economy, who attended the event, stated the following: "We are inaugurating the first fully completed electric power . Once the 400 kV ring is completed, Romania will be completely independent, energy-wise. In the coming period, work will begin on "closing" the ring in the Suceava - Transilvania area". "Transelectrica" officials said that the works were executed by a consortium which includes Areva Energie Technik of Germany and Electromontaj Romania.
