Romania"s national electric energy carrier Transelectrica (BSE:TEL) concluded last year with 50.34 million RON (13.8 million EUR) in profit, down 5.5 times from 2006. The turnover slid 5.7, according to preliminary results sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE). The 2006 net profit was 277.25 million RON. Last year"s turnover reached 2.31 billion RON (634,000 million EUR), down by 5.71% from the 2.45 billion RON posted in 2006.
Transelectrica"s revenues amounted to 2.39 billion RON (656 million EUR) last year, down by 8.31% from the 2.61 billion RON posted in 2006. Expenses totaled 2.32 billion RON (634 million EUR) up by 1.51% from the 2.28 billion RON posted in 2006. Transelectrica is listed on BSE as of August 2006. The State controls the company with 73.81%, followed by Proprietatea Fund with 13.5%.
