Transelectrica, Romania"s national electricity carrier, will invest 1.41 billion RON over the next five years to rehabilitate and retool transformer stations, according to CEO Stelian Alexandru Gal. He added that investments would also include developing interconnections to Serbia, R. Moldova and Turkey.
Investments have been scheduled as follows: 2008 - 274.57 million RON, 2009 - 237.16 million RON, 2010 - 293.72 million RON, 2011 - 317.88 million RON, 2012 - 292.45 million RON. Transelectrica is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange as of August 2006. The State controls the company with 73.7%.
