The law of holiday tickets and the stimulation of travel outside the holiday season will be the main points on the list of discussions between ANAT and the Minister of Tourism, Elena Udrea, in a meeting to be held this week, stated for NewsIn, the chairman of ANAT, Dragoş Anastasiu.
According to Mr. Atanasiu, the main steps that the Ministry of Tourism must urgently take consist in the passing of the law for holiday tickets and ensuring the stream of tourists in the next four months.
During the meeting scheduled for this week, will also be discussed problems concerning the passing of the new law concerning tourism. Also, the representatives of the National Association of Travel Agents (ANAT) will present to the Minister of Tourism a project including steps for fighting the crisis, recently made by the Association.
According to the representatives of the travel agencies, the anti-crisis plan aims to promote the earlybooking system among tour-operators as well as the promotion of regional tourism, in and to the neighboring countries.
"One of the project"s goals is to get the travel agencies to adopt the earlybooking system, which consists of the early purchase of a travel package, method which gives a client discounts of up to 30%", the ANAT consultant, Traian Bădulescu stated.
According to Bădulescu, the travel agencies can see the financial crisis as an opportunity. Given that the budgets for travel will shrink, the neighboring countries will become a very convenient holiday option. "To this end, travel to neighboring countries such as Hungary, must be encouraged", the ANAT representative stated. According to Mr. Bădulescu, ANAT will try to convince the member agencies to charge low fees in order to attract more incoming tourists.
Also to the same end, the professional association of travel agencies intends to start "a strong lobby to determine the new government to allot an important budget for promoting Romania in the region".
