Domestic computer science has a future, as demonstrated by the international results achieved. Romania secured the first-place position in terms of medals at the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics, as announced by the Ministry of Education. The award ceremony for the seventh edition of the European Junior Olympiad in Informatics took place in Kutaisi, Georgia, with 96 competitors from 24 countries participating. Romania secured the top spot in the medal rankings among the 24 participating countries and continues to be the only country to win the gold medal in each of the seven previous editions, as emphasized by the Ministry of Education. Romania's team earned one gold medal and three silver medals: Andrei Paul Iorgulescu, International Computer Science High School, Bucharest - gold medal; Matei Neacşu, International Computer Science High School, Bucharest - silver medal; Roland Petrean, "Simion Bărnuţiu" Primary School, Zalău - silver medal; Luca Valentin Mureşan, "Mihai Eminescu" National College, Satu Mare - silver medal. The team was coached by representatives of the Society for Excellence and Performance in Informatics, which handled the selection and training of the representative teams: Daniela Lica - Prahova County Center of Excellence and Bogdan-Ioan Popa - University of Bucharest.
