"The selections of the films "The New Year That Wasn't' in the European Discovery 2024 - Prix FIPRESCI category and "Three Kilometers to the End of the World' at the European University Film Award represent a remarkable recognition of the talent and creativity of the teams behind these productions, which have delighted us in recent months with their presence at numerous international festivals," Turcan wrote on a social network. The minister states that these nominations confirm the value of Romanian cinema on the international stage, demonstrating that the efforts and dedication of our filmmakers are appreciated throughout Europe: "The Ministry of Culture remains firm in its commitment to supporting the development and promotion of this vital sector for our cultural identity." In recent months, the ministry has adopted several measures aimed at supporting film production.
