The Petrotel-Lukoil refinery of Ploieşti, owned by Russian oil group Lukoil, last year had a turnover of 1.92 billion dollars, up 43% from 1.34 billion dollars in 2009. Petrotel-Lukoil did not disclose the factors which supported this increase in its business, press agency Mediafax says. For 2011, the refinery has scheduled to refine 2.8 million tons of oil, up 5.6% from the volume of 2.65 million tons estimated for 2010. Also, following an investment of 61 million dollars in increasing the efficiency of the refinery, its energy consumption decreased 5% compared to 2009, technological losses diminished by 20%, and greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by 6%.
