The "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest ranks first among Romanian universities and 787th worldwide, according to the University Ranking by Academic Performance classification system. According to the educational institution: "A new international recognition of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila" from Bucharest comes from the prestigious international ranking URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance) which, in the year 2023-2024, places the most titled university of medicine and pharmacy in the country on the first place among universities in Romania (787th place worldwide)".
According to the quoted source, in the recently published field ranking, UMF "Carol Davila" occupies the first position in the fields of Medical and Health Sciences (366th place worldwide) and Surgery (422nd place worldwide). "It is gratifying that our university has constantly risen in the URAP ranking in the last 5 years, and for this special achievement I bring sincere thanks and congratulations to the members of the academic community who make possible, year after year, these performances that honor us", declared the rector of the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Viorel Jinga. UMF "Carol Davila" has constantly climbed the URAP ranking in the last 5 years: 827th place in 2022-2023, 847th place in 2021-2022, 944th place in 2020-2021 and 1027th place in 2019-2020. The URAP (University Ranking by Academic Performance) classification system focuses on academic performance, expressed on the basis of 6 indicators regarding scientific research: scientific articles, citations, the total number of scientific documents, impact of articles, impact of citations and international collaboration.
