EnglishUnivers, the federation of trade unions in the energy industry, yesterday announced plans to stage protests as of 28 October, as a consequence of a major labour conflict taking place within E.ON Energie Moldova. According to a press release to BURSA, the unions are protesting the reorganisation plan and the layoffs decided by E.ON, as well as the deterioration of the working conditions and repeated delays in verifying standard workloads and personnel norms. The trade unions are also claiming that E.ON is thereby breaching the privatisation contract and the framework employment contract. Pickets will be organised at the E.ON branch in Iasi.
