The EUR 3 million investment that CMU completed this month is part of the company"s expansion strategy which is intended to help it provide modern medical services to as many customers as possible.

Following an EUR 1.5 million partnership with Avamedica, CMU opened a new diagnosis and treatment center in Constanţa. The clinic has a surface of 520 sqm and has 15 medical offices. The clinic offers basic medical services, as well as surgery and imaging services, radiology and osteodensimetry, mammography and 4D ecography.

By acquiring 50% of Avamedica Constanţa last year, CMU currently owns four clinics in the city. The recently opened clinic is part of a Greenfield project, which serves the company"s goal of completing the range of services it can provide locally.

This month, the company has inaugurated a medical center in Ploieşti, following an investment of EUR 1.3 million. The new medical center will meet the needs of over 1000 subscribers of the Prahova county. "Following the completion of this project, the number of subscribers will increase to around 3000-5000 within the first year. We are also banking on attracting 15000 to 20000 customers on the fee-for-service segment (personalized services) in Ploieşti alone", said Sergiu Neguţ, the executive manager of CMU.

The Ploieşti medical center has seven medical offices and a surgery department and has 55 employees. The new center complements the specialized ophthalmology clinic that CMU opened in Ploieşti, in 2008.

This year, CMU will open two more clinics, in Cluj and Bucharest, meaning the company will be running 10 polyclinics and 2 hospitals in Bucharest and 7 polyclinics across Romania.
