The American Department of Justice is investigating whether some of the largest companies in the technology sector agreed not to poach each other"s employees, thus breaking antitrust laws, according to the Wall Street Journal, quoted by Mediafax. The authorities are investigating the hiring practices of companies such as Apple, Google, IAC/InterActiveCorp, International Business Machines (IBM) and Intel.
The Department is first of all reviewing whether employees in the IT sector missed out on opportunities to get better paying jobs because of these companies" hiring practices, the WSJ said, citing sources close to the matter. Officials of the Department of Justice and of the companies involved in the case declined to comment.
