EnglishURBB (United Romanian Breweries Bereprod) posted a 25% increase in sales volume for the first quarter of 2007. Thus, the company has strengthened its position in the beer market, ranking fourth among international beer producers present in Romania. Thr company"s results for the first quarter of this year are mainly due to the 36% increase in sales volume in March 2007, compared to the similar period of the previous year.
The project to double the production capacity of the Tuborg brewery went according to schedule and at the beginning of April, construction works were started for the second brewery, which will insure the increse in production capacity. The Logistics Centre, which occupies a surface area of 3,5 hectars, was also finalized. In 2007, investments in the expansion process will surpass 20 million EUR. By the end of the year, the brewery will have a production capacity of 2 milioane hectoliters.
