VAE Apcarom"s Profit Drops 2.5 Times in Q2

Railway equipment manufacturer VAE Apcarom posted a net profit of 1.48 million RON (473,611 EUR) in the second quarter of 2007, down 2.5 times from 3.5 million RON in the same period last year, according to a report to the Bucharest Stock Exchange quoted by NewsIn. Turnover totalled 20.64 million RON (6.57 million EUR), similar to the 20.69 million RON turnover posted in the year-ago quarter.

The company posted a net profit of 1.75 million RON (560,492 EUR) in the first half of the year, falling 14.16% from 2.046 million RON in the same period last year. Turnover amounted to 37.70 million RON (9.79 million EUR) in the first six months, recording a 52.6% rise from 24.71 million RON in H1 2006.

The company estimates a turnover of 15.9 million EUR for the current fiscal year, while net profit is expected to reach 1.31 million EUR. VAE Apcarom is listed on Tier 2 of the Bucharest Stock Exchange as APC. The majority shareholder is VAE Aktiengesellschaft with 86.37% in the company. VAE Apcarom has a share capital of 7.37 million RON and a capitalisation of 89.29 million RON (28.16 million EUR).
