EnglishVolksbank Leasing Romania concluded last year with 11,831 leasing contracts worth 205.2 million EUR. Approximately 67.6% of the funds were used to buy cars, 27.8% for commercial vehicles and 4.6% for equipment. "We hope that the ratio will be more balanced in the next two years: trucks and equipment could be 50% and cars 50%," said Peter Demmer, Chairman of the Board of VB Leasing. Compared to 2006, the demand for financing of industrial equipment and farming machinery gained 80% and, respectively 55% in 2007. Financing of medical equipment, buildings and machine building tools also gained between 10% and 30%.
VB Leasing specializes in leasing cars, commercial vehicles and equipment. Corporate customers account for 86.2% of the total portfolio. The company"s net profit gained 26% in 2007 placing the company seventh among the members of the Banking Leasing Association with a 4.2% market share. The objective for this year is to move to the fifth place. VB Leasing has12 branches in Bucharest and the main cities and is part of the Central and Eastern European network of VB Leasing International, which controls it with 80%. Volksbank Romania holds 20%.
