Violence in schools, combated with infographics

Old habits cannot be forgotten. The commissions that were created to solve (only theoretical) any problems did not disappear altogether, they just got refined. The Ministry of Education has created, to support schools in the management of cases of violence and to maintain a safe environment, a package of infographics for the application of the Procedure regarding the management of cases of violence on preschoolers, preschoolers, students and the staff of the educational institution, as well as other correlated situations in the school environment and the suspicion of violence against children outside the school environment. "Correct decisions taken at the right time can make the difference between safety and risk, that's why knowledge of all procedures is essential," the representatives of the Ministry of Education said. According to the quoted source, in order to apply the provisions of the procedure regarding the management of cases of violence, the staff of the educational unit must pay special attention to the following aspects: "If they witness an act of violence, the school staff has the obligation to eliminate the risks and restore the feeling of physical safety to the students and emotional; in the case of acts of serious violence that constitute crimes, the director is obliged to notify the Police; in the case of acts of serious violence against minors committed by preschoolers, students or school staff, the director of the educational unit is obliged to notify 119 - General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection; the school staff is obliged to communicate with the parents or legal representatives about the situation of violence in the absence of the preschooler, preschooler, student, in the presence of the counselor and/or the school mediator, in a space that ensures the confidentiality of those involved; school staff establish and apply support measures for victims and perpetrators, as well as sanctions for perpetrators.

In cases of student violence against school staff, if there is suspicion of a crime, the director of the educational unit reports to the Police (112)". When the infographic clearly says what needs to be done, all that remains is to do it!
