The chairman and founder of the Conservative party, Dan Voiculescu, warns that the Government has yet to come up with a plan to mitigate the effects of unemployment.
Voiculescu warns that without a massive investment program in the public sector, the increase of the public unemployment funds is an incomplete solution to the increasing number of layoffs.
Dan Voiculescu explained: "The most optimistic forecasts show that by the end of the year the number of unemployed workers will exceed 700000. In spite of this, the Government has not yet devised a plan to create new jobs and to counter unemployment. The unemployment aid is an insufficient and temporary solution. People need jobs, and so far, in spite of the promises that new infrastructure investment programs will be launched, the Government hasn"t done anything concretely".
The founding chairman of the Conservative Party said that as the private sector is in a complete deadlock, troubled by bankruptcies, layoffs and shrinking activity in all the economic sectors, the Government should stimulate the recovery of the economy, by investing in the public sector and stimulating ancillary economic activities.
"The government has to come up with a plan to mitigate unemployment and to create new jobs, as soon as possible", Voiculescu concluded.
