Who "owns" the stupid things said by the employees of the NBR?

The National Bank of Romania (NBR) thinks that the National Liberal Party (PNL) is a pariah.

On his Facebook page, the strategy consultant of the Strategic Projects Department of the Chancery of the NBR Daniel Oanţă wrote:

"Come on PNL, kick the plumber out! After that, all that's left is to get rid of 2-3 scumbags and one spouse and then you won't be a pariah anymore. Come on, you can do it!"

The one that the strategy consultant of the Strategic Projects Department of the NBR Chancery Daniel Oanţă mockingly calls "plumber", is PNL senator Daniel Zamfir (engineer, graduate of the Bucharest Constructions Institute), who was replaced on Thursday from the management of the Economic Commission of the Senate, on pressure from PNL president Ludovic Orban, (apparently, this will slow down the speed with which Zamfir is promoting the two legislative projects which he is currently working on: 1) the capping of bank interest rates; 2) the hiking of the oil and natural gas royalties).

We don't know which member of the PNL Daniel Oanţă is referring to when mentioning the "2-3 scumbags" of the PNL that the party needs to rid itself of.

On the other hand, it is clear that when saying "spouses", Daniel Oanţă is referring to Lucian Isar, (the husband of Alina Gorghiu, former PNL president) but who is not notorious due to being married to a celebrity, but because of his criticisms of the strategies of the NBR and his virulence in accusing NBR governor Mugur Isărescu of concealing his income (the accusations have been proved justified).

The wording used by the National Bank of Romania (NBR) on Facebook is coarse, it is unimaginable that this institution with an honorable history of 138 years behind it, spews its insults on Facebook in terms like this.

The National Bank of Romania (NBR) is prohibited from making any statements on any political party, by dividing them in black sheep and otherwise, because when it does that it is as if were getting involved in politics.

And the National Bank of Romania is prohibited from doing politics.

The National Bank of Romania (NBR) must draw up monetary policy, but not get involved in politics.

When the Strategy Consultant of the Strategic Projects Compartment of the Chancery of the NBR Daniel Oanţă publicly states that the PNL is a pariah, the National Bank of Romania is getting involved in politics, violating its Bylaws.

In an intervention on TV, NBR spokesperson Dan Suciu said: "Daniel Oanţă is not «the representative» of the NBR and we do not comment on all the nonsense that NBR employees post on Facebook".

What is shocking, from the very first sight, in this intervention of Suciu (aside from the fact that it matches the vocabulary used by Oanţă), is that it confirms that Daniel Oanţă is still employed by the NBR and that he hasn't been fired, meaning that the simple denial of him being the representative of the NBR, is nothing but a verbal distancing from him, rather than a factual one.

No, after he publicly said that there are 2-3 scumbags in the PNL and a spouse who together make the party a pariah, (but at least it kicked Zamfir out), Daniel Oanţă remains the strategy consultant in the Strategic Projects Compartment of the Chancery of the NBR.

Therefore, the NBR admits that it thinks there are 2-3 scumbags in the PNL and that the PNL is a pariah.

To gaslight the public, the NBR is saying, through Suciu, that all this is nonsense spewed out by an employee of the NBR.

But Suciu is also an employee, so his claim that the statements made by NBR employees are nonsense also apply to himself.

It is hard to discern the truth.

It is possible that the NBR could be making its employees make all kinds of nonsensical political statements, but it doesn't want to take responsibility for them.

What is to prevent Daniel Oanţă from having posted on his Facebook page the freely expressed thoughts of Mugur Isărescu?

Nothing.

Oanţă posted those things during his schedule, on Thursday, at 11:30, when he was on the job; maybe the governor was standing behind him, in his office of the NBR, and dictating him what to write: "2-3 scumbags".

We don't know.

Oanţă continues to be employed, on one hand because he is not guilty of anything, he was only carrying out the order of his boss, because in reality, he has no opinion of his own, he just eats from the hand that feeds him; on the other hand, he remains employed because Isărescu will still need him in the future.

Up until now I never knew what Oanţă was called, but I was sure he existed.
