Wrigley Romania Posts 29% Turnover Growth In Q1

At the end of May, Wrigley Romania reported an 81% share of the Romanian sweets market (according to AC Nielsen), including chewing gum, candy, mints, jelly and not including chocolate and biscuits. At the end of Q1, the company reported a 29% increase in turnover and a 33% increase in sales volume.

Wrigley"s chewing gum portfolio in Romania includes Orbit, Winterfresh, Airwaves, Juicy Fruit and Hubba Bubba, whereas the candy portfolio comprises Orbit Drops, Solano, Juicy Fruit and Winterfresh Mints. Wrigley has 95.7% of the chewing gum market in Romania and has consolidated this position with a new packaging for Orbit (46 pieces) and two new varieties of Juicy Fruit, Red and Pink.

Wrigley Romania also leads the candy market with 39% of the overall value of the market, according to AC Nielsen. The release of Winterfresh Mints in the fall of 2006 also contributed to this status. The Solano brand was re-launched in February 2007.
