Zentiva NV, a leading pharmaceutical company in Central and Eastern Europe, reported sales of 630 million EUR in 2007, up by 19% from 2006. However, sales decreased 19% in Romania and 7% in the Czech Republic.
Regarding sales in Romania, Jozef Beleik, Country General Manager Zentiva Romania, said: "Sales in Q4 confirm that the strategy to stabilize, increase profitability and develop on long term works and is a solid platform for our sustainable development on the local market.
Shareholders in the Romanian unit include Zentiva NV (23.93%) and Generali PPF Holding BV (19.14%), which also controls Zentiva NV voting rights as of January 17th. Formerly known as Sicomed, Zentiva Bucharest has a share capital of 42.69 million RON and is listed on BSE as SCD.
