15 Mln EUR Investments Auctioned In Cluj-Napoca

Cluj Municipality has announced its intention to hold several auctions in order to award works contracts totalling over 15 million euro. The most expensive investment will be the project involving maintenance works for modernized and unmodernized roads, estimated at over 9 million euro. Works are sheduled to begin on March 23rd and they will be finalized by December 31st, 2007.

Another important objective is the modernisation and maintenance of Unirii Square, which will amount to 5 million euro (parking lor, pedestrian passage, complex construction works). Auctions will start this summer and the execution period is 24 months.

Other works to be auctioned in the first half of this year are the refurbishment of the buildings in Piata Unirii nr. 2, Calea Motilor nr. 7 and Calea Motilor nr. 5. The value of these works is between 200.000 and 800.000 RON and they must be finalized by the end of the year.

Another important project includes the building of artesian fountains and springs on Eroilor Boulevard (over 850.000 RON), as well as maintenance and refurbishment works for City Hall buildings (around 1 million RON).

Cluj Municipality also intends to refurbish stste-owned buildings, according to Law no. 114/1996 . Works may start in April and be finalized by March next year. The value of the investment is estimated at 800.000 RON.

Money will also be spent on maintenance works on the Calvaria river, the building of parking lots and the rehabilitation of the Bastionul Croitorilor tourist circuit.
