Dedeman, a wholly-owned Romanian retailer of construction materials, home decoration and do-it-yourself products has opened the second store in Bucharest on Valea Cascadelor Street. This is the 16th store in Dedeman"s countrywide network and the fourth stipulated in the investment plan for 2009. The store required an overall investment of 20 million EUR and created job opportunities for 220 persons.

The Dedeman Store on Valea Cascadelor measures 14,000 square metres and offers a wide range of options for building and furnishing a home. The store carries over 45,000 products including construction materials, floor tiles, wall tiles, plumbing supplies, electrical supplies, furniture, interior decorations, home appliances, electronics, machine tools, power tools, accessories and gardening products.

We are opening our fourth store this year amid numerous challenges, thus proving that our commitments do lead to facts. This is the second out of the four stores we intend to have in Bucharest. Our expansion plans remain unchanged. By the end of 2011, we will have a total of 20 stores dedicated to the needs of our customers," said Dedeman CEO Dragos Paval.

Dedeman concluded last year with a turnover of some 250 million EUR, up by 35% from the 184.5 million EUR reported for 2007. Estimates for this year point to the same value as in 2008.
