Cosmetics maker "Farmec Cluj-Napoca" announced a turnover of 24,5 million Euros for the year 2008. Mariana Sinitaru, marketing specialist, said: "Preliminary results for 2008 indicate a turnover of 24,5 million Euros at the end of December 2008, up 22% YOY 2007, despite the current market conditions".
The turnover for December 2008 was 2,1 million Euros, up 23,5% from November 2008. The best selling cosmetic products were "Gerovital H3", "Gerovital Plant" and "Aslavital", while the best selling household cleaning products were "Nufăr" and "Triumf".
The "Farmec" representative says that the "value for money" of the company"s products has helped it maintain a constant growth, as well as earn customer loyalty. Also, the sales promotions of the last few months have helped maintain a rising rate of monthly sales, especially as the overall purchases of the population have diminished, according to Mariana Sintaru.
About the strategy to keep the sales growth, Mrs. Sintaru stated: "In 2009 we will plans for several additions to the product portfolio which will keep our customer"s attention".
The market forecasts for 2009 of Farmec officials are more cautious, given the market conditions, thus they estimate a 5% only turnover growth.
