Agras, an insurance company part of the Vienna Insurance Group, estimates a gross profit of 3.27 million RON for 2007 and intends to invest 223,000 EUR in business development, according to a report to the Bucharest Stock Exchange. For 2006, the company reported a net profit of 26,203 RON, up from losses of 1.5 million RON in 2005, and overall revenues of 36.2 million RON (10.28 million EUR), down by 32% year-on-year. Expenses declined to 36.17 million RON.
The company collected insurance premiums worth 21.5 million RON, down from 36.55 million RON in 2005, and settled claims worth over 9 million RON. Agras has a share capital of 8.91 million RON (2.53 million EUR) and is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange Tier II. In Romania, Vienna Insurance Group controls Omniasig (97.78%), Unita (99.99%), Omniasig Life (50% via Omniasig) and Agras (75.5% via Unita).
