Albalact sees a 7.57% increase in turnover

Albalact yesterday reported a turnover increase of 7.57% in the first semester of 2010, reaching 125,070,971 lei. The company"s turnover in H1 2009 was 116,270,109 lei.

The press release sent to our editors also states that in H1 2010, the company"s revenues increased 9.1% YOY, from 120,957,052 lei to 131,960,540 lei.

The operating profit in H1 2010 increased 2.56% YOY, from 6,213,552 lei in H1 2009 to 6,373,016 lei. During this period, only the net profit was affected by the significant appreciation of the Euro against the leu, in June, which led to an increase of 120% of the financial expenses. In H1 2010, the company"s net profit decreased 13.96%, to 2,418,240 lei, compared to 2,810,474 lei in H1 2009.

Raul Ciurtin, the president and general manager of Albalact Alba Iulia, said: "The dairy market is going through a difficult, very tough period, which puts a heavy pressure on prices. Given this context, the company"s results are very good and I am pleased with them. We will continue to expand our portfolio, our distribution network and our customer network and we will have new product launches and promotions. I am confident that we will meet our budgeted targets by the end of the year".

Last week, Albalact launched the dairy range "Rarăul", turning a local brand into a national brand, with a new image and a new market positioning concept. The rebranding process began in 2009, when Albalact upgraded the plant of Rarăul Câmpulung Moldovenesc and began producing cheese under the eponymous brand "Rarăul".
