Shares in fertilizers producer Amonil - Slobozia (BSE ticker AMO) drove the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) growth in the last month with a 67.55% surge in EUR-equivalent values between 17 April and 20 May, reaching 0.017 RON/share on Wednesday. Investors in the Active Dinamic Fund managed by SAI Swiss Capital Asset Management also made a nice profit, as the stock gained 20.06% in the respective interval.
The investors who used BSE indexes as a guideline for their investment decisions also made notable earnings. The EUR-denominated BET Index, reflecting the performance of the ten most liquid stocks on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, gained 13.33% in the last month, while the BET-XT Index, reflecting the performance of the 25 most liquid stocks gained 8.46%. The BET-FI Index, reflecting the performance of the five financial investment firms (SIFs), gained 4.13%.
The more conservative investors, who decided on 17 April to make a EUR-denominated deposit with the Banca Romaneasca and the Romanian International Bank, made moderate earnings of 0.54% of their initial amount over the referenced period. Those who opted for a RON-denominated deposit with the Romanian International Bank in the referenced interval secured a 2.6% profit.
Those who opted for jewellery and other gold items a month ago saw a 1.99% increase in the value of their investment at the end of the referenced period.
In turn, those who preferred "the mattress" as their savings vehicle gained 1.33% in the referenced interval as the RON became slightly stronger against the European currency.
