The Arad County Council is seeking solutions to develop the local villages and is encouraging mayors to form micro-regions in order to improve their application for EU funds. Arad County Council Chairman Iosif Matula made reference to a project drafted by the "Vasile Goldis" University in Arad.
Headlined "Continuous Optimization and Decentralization in Rural Environments," the project is intended to train rural citizens to prepare projects for EU funding. This project itself received 19,643 EUR worth of PHARE funding and unfolded in the villages of Gurahont, Plescuta and Brazii.
