Cinemas Day will take place on Saturday, September 23rd, as announced by the Cinema Operators Association, in partnership with and supported by the Ministry of Culture. Following the record number of spectators recorded in 2022, more operators have joined the initiative, and film enthusiasts will be able to enjoy promotional offers in 348 participating cinema halls located in over 30 cities. The cinemas hosting the event on Saturday are: Cinema City (10 lei for movies in any format), Cineplexx, Happy Cinema, Inspire Cinema, Cinemax, CINEMA - Ion Besoiu Cultural Center, and Cinema Profesor Ioan Manole. From their program, the audience will be able to choose films that have exceeded box office records in recent months, as well as new releases or family films. Jacob Borover, President of the Cinema Operators Association, stated: "We are celebrating after an important summer in which Romanians relaxed at the cinema, and the number of tickets sold once again demonstrates that the cinema remains an important player in the entertainment industry and in the preferences of Romanians as a leisure option. We have designed Cinemas Day so that the Big Screen experience can be enjoyed by anyone, from any corner of the country, to have a day for all those curious about screen adaptations and those who are going to the cinema for the first time." The return to cinema theaters - the growth is modest but noticeable - is a reality.
