The resignation of the symbiont

It is said that Emil Boc handed in his resignation.

But he couldn't have; not by himself.

A resignation is a unilateral act of will.

He hasn't got any.

His will is that of Traian Băsescu.

Do you think that Boc's will got beaten into submission in order to get him to resign?

That would be an exaggeration; if Boc doesn't have a will of his own, what exactly would Băsescu have to fight against?!

For three years we were governed by a symbiont, a sci-fi worthy political product, a being that was born, that graduated philosophy, joined a party, a being that talks! (unbelievable, it talks!) - everything like a bio-shell for the will of Băsescu, which infiltrated him.

Since Emil Boc is so small, would there be enough room within his shell for someone else's will?

It must be awful.

Terribly cramped.

Like a metal prison.

You have to dislocate your bones, like a mouse squeezing under the door, you have to curl up like an embryo, you need to strain your muscles to withstand the tendency for-self annihilation, which comes so naturally to Boc.

The symbiont moves through the air, Predoiu was the last inspiration of the former PM.

I wonder what it's like for Băsescu's will inside the new host?

Predoiu seems to have more room for an outside will inside him, and the pressure from the UDMR and his lack of supporters within the PDL would keep him from growing a backbone.

At any rate, he seems like an intermediate host, towards the one that guarantees the perpetuation of mediocre government.

The street protesters have just been fooled.

This resignation is merely the sign of the will of Băsescu having moved from one host to the next.

Some may think that the decisions concerning Romania are made in the two palaces: Victoria and Cotroceni.

They're not, there is just one: It's called Victroceni.

And it's one weird symbiont!

AUTHOR'S NOTE

The paper left for the printer before 20:00 hours, this is why the article mentions Cătălin Predoiu, instead of Mihai Răzvan Ungureanu.

But that doesn't change the core message of the article.

Antonescu, USL: I asked Traian Băsescu to resign, he said he won't

The president of the PNL, Cin Antonescu, yesterday said at Cotroceni, after the consultations with the head of state, which lasted 10 minutes, that the USL asked president Traian Băsescu to resign. The leader of the PNL said that it was a brief and "rather illuminating". "I've told him our stance on the matter, which you already know", Antonescu said.

"I've told him that, from our point of view, the best, healthiest solution to the political crisis, after the step Emil Boc moved on, would be for him to resign as well. He told us he wasn't going to resign precisely now, when PM Emil Boc resigned as well, going with the same theory of stability", the liberal leader said. The liberal has also said that, during the consultations, the USL stood by its "strong support for early elections".

According to Antonescu, the president said he didn't agree with the idea of holding early elections.

Frunzăverde, PDL: The new government will be led by an independent PM and will be made up of ministers with political affiliations

The first-vice-president of the PDL, Sorin Frunzăverde, yesterday said that the new government would be led by an independent prime minister and would be made up of political ministers, saying that this structure of the government can successfully go through a vote of the Parliament the parliament. "For the most part, the new government would be led by an independent prime minister and would be made up of ministers with political affiliations. It is an alternative which can successfully go through the parliament. This is what is shaping up now", Frunzăverde said, quoted by Mediafax. He said he couldn't mention any names, because it all depends on the president's decision, who will make proposals to the coalition in this regard.

"The structure of the new government will depend first of all on the decision of the PM, who will select the members of the government. The PM will do that, depending on the results of the negotiations with the parties of the coalition", Frunzăverde said.

At the closing of the edition, president Traian Băsescu had consultations with the PDL.
