"Praktiker" Romania Friday opened a new wing of the Craiova store, after expanding by over 2,000 square meters the retail area of the store. The store now has a total surface of approximately 8,300 square meters.
The investment amounts to EUR 2.25 million, company officials announced in a press release.
Michael Krahn, General Manager of "Praktiker" Romania, said "the decision to expand was made in order to better meet the needs of our customers, both when it comes to the diversity of products available, and to the available display area". Mr. Krahn said that "the retail area of Praktiker Craiova has been increased by 30%".
The "Praktiker" store in Craiova was opened in November 2005, and it is the sixth store owned by the company that underwent expansion. The most recent project was completed in May 2009, in Focşani, for an investment of EUR 11.1 million.
Officials of "Praktiker" Romania say that so far, the company"s investments exceed EUR 250 million.
