The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) has evaluated the flat reference unit price for the procurement of natural gas in the second quarter of 2009 at 68.55 RON/MWh. This value will be the reference for determining the differences between the actual cost incurred by the operators with the procurement of natural gas (based on the natural gas procurement invoices plus the cost of the related services) and the value estimated by ANRE at the beginning of the quarter. The said value does not include the excise tax for natural gas and the value-added tax, but does cover the cost of transporting natural gas. It is nearly 12% less than the amount calculated for the first quarter of this year.
The estimated price for gas imports from the Russian Federation in Q2 is 118.75 RON/MWh (370 USD per 1,000 cubic meters), while the price of domestic gas remains 45.71 RON/MWh. The demand for gas on the regulated market in Q2 has been estimated at 7,061.3 MWh, of which 5,649.04 MWh from the domestic production. The remaining quantity would be imported.
