Henkel Romania Merges With Henkel Bautechnik

The merger between Henkel Romania SRL and Henkel Bautechnik Romania SRL was finalized, the resulting company being Henkel Romania, operating as of January 1st 2007. The merger was done by absorbtion of Henkel Romania SRL by Lenkel Bautechnik Romania SRL. The merger of the two Romanian Henkel companies was a result of economical and structural decisions, such as the expansion of the company"s activities and their complexity, increase in the number of employees, simplification of procedures and reduction of costs.

The resulting company maintains the original division-based structure as well as the personnel of the merging companies. Mr. Liviu Sfrija, former president of Henkel Romania SRL, was assigned as president of the new Henkel Romania SRL, and Mr. Wolfgang Zettl, general manager of Henkel Bautechnik, is the new regional manager of the Adhesives Division for South Eastern Europe.

Currently, Henkel has 440 employees in Romania and its portfolio includes approximately 30 brands and thousands of products, ranging from cosmetics, detergents, commercial and professional adhesives to technologies. In July 2000 Henkel opened an adhesives factory for the Ceresit brand. Subsequently, the factory was expanded and modernized technology-wise, so thet it presently comprises three production units. The production capacity reaches 200,000 tons of adhesives per year , the total investments exceeding 10 million EUR.
