EnglishKontirom, an Arcelor Mittal company, concluded Y2006 with over 23 million EUR in turnover, up by some 110% from 2005. The company"s internal production equaled 30% of the turnover in 2006. In terms of quantity, Kontirom sold 650,000 square meters of panels, 3,000 tons of sheet iron and 2,000 tons of profiles, thus securing a 90% increase in the volume of overall sales.
The turnover estimate for this year is 25 million EUR. The company is planning to invest over 10 million EUR in a new metal roof tile production line, a panels production line and a profiles production line. "Our current market share is 15% and we hope to double it after these investments," said GM Marian Pirvu. By 2009, he wants 90% of the sales to be Romanian-made products.
