Medcenter, one of the largest providers of private medical services in our country, reported revenues of 1,8 million EUR for the first quarter of this year, gaining nearly 25% from the corresponding period of 2006. In the same period, the number of subscriptions to private health care services increased by 12 %.

The increase was mainly due to new contracts signed with private companies for workplace health services and additional subscriptions. Also, the number of pacients increased, following investments in test labs and medical centers. Approximately 10% of the increase in revenues was obtained from contracts with several medical companies that have outsourced health care services such as lab tests to Medcenter.

For 2007, the company estimates revenues of 7 million EUR, up 40% year-on-year, and plans to invest 3 million EUR in two new medical centers in Brasov and Constanta, as well as in new equipment for existiong ones. Medcenter owns 8 medical centers and 7 test labs in Bucharest, Buzau, Focsani, Braila, Iasi, Baia Mare and Cluj and is one of the five largest players on the private health care market.
