EnglishNew car sales on the Romanian market rose by 10,3% in the first two months of 2007, compared to the correspending period of last year, reaching 38.405 units, according to data from the Association of Car Producers and Importers (APIA), quoted by Rompres.
The most dymanic segments of the auto market were heavy trucks (over 18 tons) and microbuses, rising 217,3% and respectively 106,1%, while sales if light utility vehicles and commercial vehicles between 3,5 and 6 tons declined by 9,6% and respectively 3%.
Automobile sales reached 33.030 units, up 10,6% compared to January-February 2006. Domestic output reached 31.700 units, of which 30.156 were automobiles, declining by 5,9% from the corresponding period of 2006. However, exports grew by 36,1%, reaching 17.636 vehicles, while imports grew by 47,8%, to 26.007 units.
