The ticket prices for events at next year's Olympic Games are causing dissatisfaction. There is concern that due to this and the restrictions imposed by the ongoing conflicts, athletic competitions may take place in an undesirable anonymity. Sebastian Coe, the President of World Athletics (the International Association of Athletics Federations), expressed regret for the "high" ticket prices for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. "It is my responsibility to ensure that our sport takes place in the best possible climate, and that the French organizers of the Olympic Games will do everything to fill the stadiums, even if ticket prices are, as we know, high," he said at a press conference. Over 7.6 million tickets have already been put on sale for the Paris Games, with some offered at a minimum rate of 24 euros, but others, especially for athletics competitions, can cost up to 690 euros. "Our desire will be to have supporters in the stadiums to watch the events at affordable prices that allow us to develop our sport," emphasized Sebastian Coe, who insisted on the need to "consider" the families of athletes who will travel to support their loved ones. The former Olympic champion, who led the organizing committee of the 2012 London Games, wished "good luck" to Tony Estanguet, the president of the French organizing committee, and his colleagues, hoping that "the Games will take place safely and not in an atmosphere of isolation." France is preparing to welcome athletes and spectators from around the world for the Paris Olympic Games next summer, from July 26 to August 11.
