EnglishRomanian Television (TVR) CEO Tudor Giurgiu announced significant changes in the broadcasting company"s HR and finance strategies. He said a significant number of employees would soon go as the company was largely overstaffed.
Last year, bonuses and overtime amounted to no less than 15 million EUR. Reference was made to the possibility of increasing the mandatory tax that both individuals and companies have to pay for TVR services from 4 to 6 RON per month.
Giurgiu also said the head of News Programs, the CEO of TVR Cultural, the head of Legal and the head of Marketing would also have to look for jobs elsewhere. The managers of the regional companies TVR Iasi and TVR Craiova have three months to improve or pack.
