Stefan Neubauer, Raiffeisen"s Sales Director for Central and Eastern Europe: "Structured Certificates provide private investors with the possibility of accessing professional investments"

"The ability to access markets or instruments that until now were the sole domain of professional investors turn structured certificates into an attractive alternative investment for our customers in Eastern Europe", said for BURSA, Stefan Neubauer, Raiffeisen"s Eastern and Central Europe Sales Director.

The statement by the "Raiffeisen" official comes as, in the beginning of this month, the Bucharest Stock Exchange launched nine structured products issued by "Raiffeisen Centrobank" AG in the form of index certificates. The products are based on the ROTX index (which tracks the BSE "blue-chips"), the EuroSTOXX50 index (which tracks the most traded companies in the Eurozone), the S&P500 index (which tracks the 500 most traded 500 American companies), the DAX index of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, as well as two products based on Gold and Brent Crude Oil. Trading of the certificates is expected to begin on the BSE in August.

The representative of "Raiffeisen" said that the bank"s experience gained in other East-European Countries such as Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic, shows that investors are interested in these certificates due to several reasons: "The first benefit of these structured certificates is the fact that they will be traded on the local stock exchange, denominated in lei and furthermore they will have a secondary market which will ensure they will have a permanent liquidity. Their second benefit is the fact that they do not have any management fees and they provide investors with access to indexes or commodities traded on foreign markets", said Stefan Neubauer.

He conceded that the products that "Raiffeisen" intends to list on the Bucharest Stock Exchange require educating domestic investors.

"It is true that we need to inform and educate investors further so they can understand the products that we are offering. This is one of the most important tasks of the company that handles the issue of these instruments. We will hold road-shows and we will publish educational materials on the website of the BSE and on our own website", said the sales manager of "Raiffeisen".

In the beginning of July "Erste Bank" also launched on the BSE nine new individual certificates, three based on indexes and three so-called turbo certificates, based on the DAX index of the Frankfurt Exchange, oil and gold.
