Port operator Romportmet Galati posted a net profit of 20.7 million RON (6.6 million EUR) in the first half of 2007, recording a 56.5% increase from 13.02 million RON in the same period last year, according to a company press release. Turnover amounted to 32.3 million RON (10.3 million EUR), up 9.7% from 29.44 million RON in H1/06.
Operating income totalled 20.22 million RON, increasing by 10% from 18.4 million RON in the corresponding period of 2006, while financial profit amounted to 4.34 million RON, as compared with a financial loss of 2.87 million RON in H1/06.
Romportmet has a share capital of 2.53 million RON, divided into 25.3 million shares with a face value of 0.10 RON. The company is controlled by Mittal Steel Holdings AG, with 83.27%, followed by Sidex Trading with 11.5%. Romportmet is listed on Tier 2 of Rasdaq as ROMT and has a market capitalisation of 400 million RON (122.25 million EUR).
