Serbia has decided to sell the majority stake in JAT Airways following the endorsement of the privatization strategy, governmental representatives announced. "The Government has determined that all conditions for the privatization of the national airline have been met, so the sale has been authorized," they said. The Serbian Government also restructured some of the company"s debts. Serbia"s National Privatization Agency will launch an invitation to tender at the end of July. The Serbian Government will sell between 51% and 71% in JAT Airways for a minimum of 76 million EUR (121 million USD). Last year, Serbian media announced that the list of prospective bidders included Air India and Aeroflot (Russia). JAT Airways covers 40 destinations in 27 European and Middle Eastern countries.
