"Vulcan" Bucureşti, controlled by businessman Ovidiu Tender, has won a tender worth 17 million lei (approximately 4 million Euros) for modernizing the installation for the preparation and burning of powdered coal of the boilers of the Energy Complex Craiova II.
The partnership between the two companies began in the 80s, when Vulcan was selected as the sole maker of the two 525 to/h boilers of CET Craiova II, the press release states. The company currently has ongoing maintenance contracts with CE Craiova for the repair of the steam circuits, worth over 1 million lei.
"This partnership represents a recognition of the work performed by Vulcan over time, but it also shows the potential of the company when it comes to performing work which will help the environment", said Peter Eisenkolb, CEO of Vulcan International.
"Vulcan" is listed on Rasdaq, with the symbol VULC. "Tender Energy Group" holds 73.24% of the shares of VULC, with the remainder being freely floated.
The company posted a loss of 2.51 million lei in H1 2009, compared to a profit of 850,650 lei over the H1 2008. The company"s turnover dropped over 10% over the January-June period, to 42.3 million lei.
