EnglishTitan Mar has completed the feasibility study and the technical documentation for a new site, which will cost some 5.5 million EUR. It will comprise a 1,300 sq.m. production hall, four warehouses of over 9,000 sq.m., a 800 sq.m. showroom and an administrative building of 1,480 sq.m.
"We have constantly reinvested our profit. Over the past four years, we have spent around 10 million EUR on modern technology. The new site will comply with European standards and is designed to double our production capacity from 28,000 sq.m. to 56,000 sq.m. per year. Both the site and the workers are ISO 9001 certified for quality management," said Titan Mar CEO Gheorghe Pogea.
The marble tiles company exports a significant part of the output to Germany, Italy, Hungary, the Middle East and Japan. Titan Mar was established in 1994 and includes the former Marmosim, established in 1925, which was privatized in 1997. Titan Mar Marmosim has some 700 employees. Last year"s sales amounted to 11.8 million EUR for Titan Mar products and 10.1 million EUR for Marmosim. Estimates for this year amount to some 13 million EUR for each of the companies.
