EnglishVoluntari, a satellite town in the north of Bucharest has attracted real estate projects worth over 3.5 billion EUR, which is equal to roughly 3% of the country"s GDP. Mayor Florian Pandele mentioned the residential district Ibitza, which will materialize in 5,000 apartments built on a 27 hectare plot, and a Kazakh residential & commercial complex worth 700 million EUR, which will result in a mall and 3,000 homes totaling 25 hectares.
Voluntari currently has 70,000 square meters of business areas. The Town Hall has allocated a 10 million RON development budget for this year, which is twice as much as the budget of the Ilfov County Council. An additional 12.5 million EUR has been accessed from EU funds. Among the main infrastructure projects are two bridges, near the Mobexpert and the Porsche sites, and a boulevard.
