Reporter: Confind's main clients are OMV, Petrom, Romgaz, ExpertPetroleum. Will the list of collaborations expand in 2024?
Ioan Simion:Confind, due to the nature of its activity, works for firms involved in oil and gas extraction, refineries, gas storage facilities, petrochemicals, as well as for companies like Azomureş or those that have obtained concessions from ANRM (Expert Petroleum, Petrosantander, Stratum, Mazarine etc). In recent years, we have started producing equipment for foreign companies - Air Products, Kinetic's, IPSEN, etc., including pressure vessels, separators, anti-pulsation vessels, H2, O2, N2 separators, and heat treatment furnaces. The range of products is diversified from year to year, depending on the requirements of the beneficiaries, and is continuously expanding. The most important project won this year, together with Habau, is Neptun Deep (gas extraction from the Black Sea - onshore area). Here we will manufacture a series of large-scale equipment. The largest equipment will weigh around 100 tons. We are in negotiation for the production of complex equipment such as H2 processing plant, large stainless steel tanks, multiphase pumps (oil, water, gas). To improve the quality of the products manufactured, Confind has acquired 2 very modern large machines: a laser cutting machine and a 600-ton press brake (both CNC). These two machines will allow us to enter a new field for Confind - manufacturing spare parts for armored vehicles (military equipment). In short, Confind has plenty of work, but it is always attentive to market trends and developments to be always prepared for any challenge (such as, for example, the ban on the use of fossil fuels, with all the consequences that will follow from it).
Reporter: What was Confind's turnover in 2023?
Ioan Simion:In recent years, Confind's turnover has varied between 45 and 57 million euros per year, with approximately 950-1000 employees. In the medium term, Confind will tend towards development and modernization to be able to meet as many requests for equipment, spare parts, and services for the oil, gas, and green energy industry.
Reporter: What is the evolution of the SanConfind Medical Center?
Ioan Simion:It is a hospital established by Confind, in Poiana Câmpina, to serve the entire Prahova Valley area, from Predeal to Bucharest. In addition to patients from Prahova, there are patients from Dâmboviţa and Bucharest. The hospital opened in 2015, when the treatment and recovery base was ready, mainly based on the salty water existing in the area. The mineral salt content is 321 g/l, which makes the saltwater extracted from the deposit one of the saltiest in the country (the water from the Black Sea has 400g/l). Therapeutic effects are felt after only a few sessions. If we add the mud brought from Techirghiol, the specific BFKT equipment, and the highly experienced medical staff, it is understood why SanConfind has a true reputation in medical recovery (postoperative, post-stroke, after car accidents, athlete recovery, etc.). Gradually, as the floors were completed, the Medical Analysis Laboratory, Imaging, Dermatology, Cardiology, Neurology, Maternity, Gastroenterology, etc., were put into operation. Today, the hospital operates 21 medical specialties, the latest being Surgery. Sanconfind has general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, vascular surgery, and will expand depending on the specialists we manage to attract. Recently, we managed to enter the National Endoprosthesis Program, and in this way, the patient will no longer pay for the prosthesis (hip, knee, shoulder), the price of the operation being significantly reduced (up to 40-50%).
Reporter: How many patients did the hospital have since opening?
Ioan Simion:The number of patients who have passed through our hospital has continuously increased, from 20,000 in 2015 to 120,000 in 2023. The turnover has also increased: 2014 - 1.58 million lei; 2015 - 2.2 million lei; 2016 - 5.07 million lei; 2017 - 8.1 million lei; 2018 - 10.5 million lei; 2019 - 12.35 million lei; 2020 - 16.28 million lei; 2021 - 23.6 million lei; 2022 - 24.5 million lei; 2023 - 26.6 million lei. The share of the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAS) in total hospital revenue is approximately 20%.
Reporter: How many employees does the hospital have?
Ioan Simion:Sanconfind has 230 employees, of which 70 are doctors (25 full-time and 45 part-time). Structurally, the hospital has outpatient consulting rooms with CNAS, day hospitalization, continuous hospitalization (gynecology, orthopedics, surgery), as well as imaging and laboratory services.
