Timişoara will host the Cultural Funding and International Connection Forum on October 30-31, aimed at contributing to the enhancement of cultural operators' capacity to develop viable and sustainable project ideas, supporting professionalism and innovation in public cultural funding in the European context. The event will take place at Faber and Cinema Victoria, organized by the Projects Center of Timişoara Municipality in collaboration with the Creative Europe Desk Romania, part of the Project Management Unit of the Ministry of Culture. "In 2023, we are examining innovative public funding practices and the context created by Timişoara's National Cultural Program as the European Capital of Culture, particularly focusing on the European dimension of collaborations, partnerships, and capacity-building programs for professionals and organizations," says Raluca Iacob, coordinator of Power Station and monitoring - evaluation of results and impact for Timişoara 2023. Conference participants will become acquainted with Creative Europe cooperation projects involving organizations from Romania and details about European funding opportunities for cultural and creative sectors, organizations, and individuals. Representatives of cultural organizations and institutions, as well as the Ministry of Culture - Project Management Unit, Creative Europe Desk, and the Projects Center of Timişoara Municipality, among others, will deliver presentations. The debate on the topic of international relations through mobility and cultural cooperation will feature representatives from Veszprem Balaton European Capital of Culture 2023, Elefsina European Capital of Culture 2023, the Romanian Cultural Institute, and the Timişoara Municipality. Additionally, we will learn about trends in supporting the capacity development of cultural actors through dedicated funding and professional training programs, along with colleagues from the European network On the Move, the European Network of Cultural Centers, and the Goethe Institute Romania. The event is part of the Power Station program, a component of the National Cultural Program "Timişoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023," dedicated to enhancing the capacity of the cultural sector and implemented by the Projects Center of Timişoara Municipality.
