The leaders of the Reper party, a political formation founded around former Prime Minister Dacian Cioloş, announced yesterday the list of candidates for the European Parliament elections that will take place on June 9. On that list are the current MEPs Dacian Cioloş, Ramona Strugariu and Dragoş Pîslaru, the current deputies Andrei Lupu, Oana Cambera and Simina Tulbure, the physicist researcher Cristian Presură and the university professor Ciprian Mihali.
Being at the top of the list of candidates, former prime minister Dacian Cioloş said: "My colleagues chose me to open the list of the REPER Party in these elections. We are a party that participates in the elections for the first time, but we are people with great experience who have shown that Romania can be influential in the European Union with firm, honest and hard-working politicians. We have the ambition to overturn all the electoral calculations that others make. We believe that any party, no matter how merged, any political cartel, such as the one between PSD and PNL, any extremist party such as AUR, can be voted down by the citizens. Maybe we are not rated with great chances today, but we are determined to work as much as it takes to convince the citizens that we have the best team that represents Romania in the EU. The best survey is the result of the vote."
Among the objectives proposed by Reper candidates for the European Parliament are the continuation of the anti-corruption fight, the entry of our country fully into the Schengen area, the accession of Romania to the Eurozone, the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU, the creation of a European army, the development of infrastructure and processes in education and health and the protection national heritage at the European level.
