Writer Mircea Cărtărescu will be the honorary president of the Gaudeamus Radio Romania Book Fair 2024, which will take place between December 4 and 8. According to the organizers, this year's edition will take place in Pavilion B2 Romexpo and will be a true literary royale, designed to satisfy the highest demands. The longest-running book fair in Romania is organized by the Romanian Broadcasting Society, which has assumed the mission of contributing to informing and educating the public through such a large-scale event. The official opening of the 31st edition will take place on Wednesday, December 4, at 12:00, at the Radio Romania stand within the fair grounds. The honorary president of this edition will be one of the best-known and most appreciated contemporary Romanian writers, Mircea Cărtărescu. Poet, prose writer, essayist, literary critic, publicist and university professor, Mircea Cărtărescu is the holder of numerous national and international literary awards, and indisputably, one of the favorite writers of the Gaudeamus audience, who often designated his works as "the most coveted book of the fair". Over 200 participants, hundreds of editorial events and tens of thousands of titles, many of which are presented here for the first time, are accessible to the public, on the eve of the Holidays.
