English"Viewside Markets Inc", calcinated alumina supplier of "Alro" Slatina (symbol: ALR), has filed a statement of claim with the London Court of International Arbitration in relation to the cancellation of an alumina purchasing contract concluded in 2008 and is asking for between USD31 and USD34 million in damages, according to a communiqué sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Friday.
Alro is disputing both the liability and amount.
In H1 2009 the company reported a net profit of 33.51 million lei, six times lower compared to H1 2008 ( 219 million lei).
The company"s turnover also dropped 28%, to 718.7 million lei.
The company has a share capital of 356.89 million lei, divided into 713.78 million shares, with a face value of 0.50 lei. The majority shareholder of Alro is Vimetco, a group registered in Holland, which holds over 84% of the shares.
The last price of 2.9 lei/share puts the company"s capitalization at 2.07 billion lei.
