Drug maker Actavis Romania posted revenues of 56 million EUR in the first half of 2007, recording a 24% increase from the same period last year, according to a company press release quoted by NewsIn.
Actavis Group reported revenues of 378.9 million EUR in the second quarter of 2007, recording a 4.1% increase from 364.1 million EUR in the same period last year. In the first six months, revenues amounted to 761.5 milioane euro, up by 7.9% as compared with 705.9 million EUR in H1 2006. The grop"s net profit amounted to 29.3 million EUR in the second quarter and 56.3 million EUR in the first half of the year.
Last year Actavis acquired Sindan, the sole oncology drug manufacturer in Romania, for 147.5 million EUR. In April 2007, Sindan officially became Actavis România. Actavis Group is a multinational company specializing in the development, manufacture, and sale of first-class generic pharmaceuticals. The Group has approximately 11,000 employees operating in about 40 countries around the globe. Headquartered in Iceland, Actavis is listed on the OMX Nordic Exchange. The group ended last year with a turnover of 1.4 billion EUR.
