EnglishEdible oil manufacturer Argus - Constanta concluded last year with gross losses of 10.7 million RON and a net turnover of nearly 109 million RON. Last year"s results included a 143 million RON turnover and losses of 9.2 million RON. In the first three months of 2007, the company posted 21.86 million RON in turnover, down by 11.6% year-on-year and revenues of 32.09 million RON, down by 19%.
Argus produces refined edible oil for the domestic market and has a refining capacity of 240 tons per day. Biodiesel is one of the business development options currently considered by the management. Argus and Ultex are the only independent edible oil producers on the market. The most important competitors are Bunge, Cargill and Agricover.
